Ben Midgley knows what it’s like to struggle. He grew up in a working-class family, spent time on food stamps, and worked his way up from cleaning gym equipment to leading one the nation’s most successful businesses in the fitness industry. He’s lived the challenges too many Maine families are facing right now. Electricity prices, property taxes, and housing costs are too high for Maine families, and politicians in Augusta just don’t get it.

Protecting our Communities & Ending Sanctuary Cities

Ben will work with our law enforcement, not against them, to keep our communities safe and secure. Under Janet Mills and the far-left in Augusta, Maine’s law enforcement has been undermined, drugs decriminalized, and officers told to stand down. All this, even as open drug use, overdoses and encampments rise in our communities.

Restoring Common Sense over a Woke Agenda

Our schools need help. Costs are up and student test scores are down. Schools are not focusing on the core skills our kids need to succeed in life after high school. Ben believes schools need to get back to the basics. They should be focused on reading, writing, math and preparing our children for their future careers. As Governor, Ben will support efforts to empower parents to ensure they know what’s happening in the classroom. Parents know what’s best for their children, not government.

Ben is a proud defender of the Second Amendment. Our right to keep and bear arms is embedded in who we are, as Mainers. It is fundamental to our way of life. As Governor, Ben will oppose any effort to chip away at our constitutional freedoms, and will veto any legislation that targets the rights of law-abiding Mainers. He’ll protect your right to defend yourself and your loved ones. In Ben, gun owners will have a Governor who won’t flinch and won’t fold.
