Putting Mainers First: Lower Costs, Better Jobs
Ben Midgley knows what it’s like to struggle. He grew up in a working-class family, spent time on food stamps, and worked his way up from cleaning gym equipment to leading one the nation’s most successful businesses in the fitness industry. He’s lived the challenges too many Maine families are facing right now. Electricity prices, property taxes, and housing costs are too high for Maine families, and politicians in Augusta just don’t get it.
Ben will lower energy costs and end the subsidies that line the pockets of special interest groups, at the expense of Maine families and small businesses. No Mainer should have to decide between buying groceries or paying rent.
Ben believes in the dignity of work, personal responsibility, and the power of a strong economy to lift people up, because he’s lived it. As Governor, he’ll make Maine a place where hard work pays off, families can thrive, and every Mainer has a fair shot at the American dream.
